The full colour onscreen tests both stimulate and engage students. The digital version mirrors the new second edition of the paper tests (short form), however the digital medium has allowed for simplification of the tests.

From September 2008 Progres in English 7-11 Digital will also include the innovative Lexile Framework™ for Reading, providing additional actionable information to support the development and monitoring of pupil’s literacy, without the need for any extra testing. Developed by the National Foundation for Educational Research exclusively for GL Assessment, the digital tests have been equated with the paper tests during autumn 2005.
