Measuring Success in Science offers unit-based tests for Years 1 to 6, organised by the topics of the QCA Scheme of Work for Science. The test topics are thematic and can be used with other curricula and outside the QCA Scheme of Work. Questions vary in style, including many types used in the national tests, and increase in difficulty across each test. Each question is linked to the QCA learning expectations for that specific unit and each test includes questions aimed at the experimental and investigative work in Scientific Enquiry. The tests are designed to be used at the end of units of work, to enable teachers to monitor progress and provide evidence to inform teacher assessment levels at the end of Key Stages 1 and 2. End-of-year tests are also provided: paper tests for Years 1 and 2, and digital tests for Years 3 – 6 (2 tests each at different levels). The digital tests offer instant scoring, data analysis and reporting.
